Express Emergency Center - Abilene Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Radiology Technologist, where your expertise in medical imaging will play a vital role in patient diagnosis and care. In this energetic and fast-paced environment, you will operate advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that assist physicians in evaluating and treating various medical conditions. Your skills will contribute to accurate diagnoses across a wide range of specialties, including emergency medicine, urgent care, and specialized imaging procedures. Responsibilities Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety. Operate a variety of imaging equipment including X-ray, CT (Computed Tomography), PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans, mammography, DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scans, sonography, and nuclear medicine procedures. Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols during all imaging activities. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to perform diagnostic evaluations accurately and efficiently. Maintain detailed records of imaging procedures, patient information, and technical data for quality assurance and legal compliance. Assist in emergency situations within Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers by providing rapid diagnostic imaging support in urgent care or emergency room settings. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. Qualifications Proven experience in diagnostic radiology with proficiency in X-ray, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, sonography, and nuclear medicine procedures. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to radiologic practices. Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic evaluations with precision across various modalities. Experience working in emergency room environments or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable. Familiarity with aseptic techniques and radiation safety standards is essential. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care. Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist from an accredited program; additional certifications in nuclear medicine or specialized imaging techniques are a plus.
