$34.67 per hour About the Role Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) is seeking a skilled and patient-focused MRI Technologist to join our Radiology team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging. We are seeking a Texas-licensed MRI Technologist who is available to start as soon as possible. As a community-owned, nonprofit hospital, VVRMC is committed to providing exceptional patient-centered care. This role is ideal for an imaging professional who thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment and is dedicated to clinical excellence. What You'll Do Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and established protocols Ensure patient safety by following all MRI screening and safety procedures Position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images Assess patient conditions and address concerns that may interfere with imaging procedures Educate patients regarding procedures and answer questions to reduce anxiety Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs Practice proper infection control and aseptic techniques Operate MRI equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines Perform quality control procedures and maintain accurate records and logs Document imaging procedures and any deviations from standard protocols Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Provide age-appropriate care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives Take call according to department schedules as assigned Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology ARRT certification required Current Texas Medical Board License required Current BLS certification required Minimum one (1) year of radiology or imaging experience preferred Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI imaging principles Experience operating MRI equipment and imaging software Excellent communication and patient care skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment Ability to begin employment in the immediate future preferred What Sets You Apart Previous MRI-specific experience Experience working with GE, Siemens, or other major MRI platforms Strong attention to detail and image quality standards Ability to remain calm and professional in urgent situations Commitment to patient safety and exceptional customer service Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Why Join VVRMC Competitive starting pay of $34.67 per hour Opportunity for immediate placement and onboarding Work with a dedicated and experienced Radiology team State-of-the-art diagnostic imaging environment Community-focused hospital where your work directly impacts patient care Supportive culture focused on quality, safety, and teamwork Work Environment & Expectations Full-time, on-site position Hospital-based Radiology Department Requires standing, walking, lifting, and positioning patients throughout the workday Participation in a rotating call schedule as needed High attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols required Equal Opportunity Employer Val Verde Regional Medical Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding nondiscrimination.
