Job Description

Administers and performs prescribed radiographic and computed tomography procedures, assists in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and performs various office related tasks need within the radiology department.
SCHEDULE
Monday through Thursday 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM Occasional On Call
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides diagnostic services. Perform and ensure appropriate procedure is being performed per order. Instruct, prepare, and reassure patient of procedure being performed. Process all images in an efficient manner. Properly identify images by patient identification, date, and markers. Transport patients to and from department in a safe manner. Provide care appropriate for the patients served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Assess and interpret data on the patients' status to identify patients' requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provides care needed as stipulated in departmental policy. Maintain stock levels of supplies and required equipment Communicate with the Radiology Director on ensuring that inventory is adequately stocked with supplies necessary for efficient operation. Perform minor and preventative maintenance on equipment. Perform the sterilization of equipment and work area. Report equipment problems to the Radiology Director.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS
Maintain confidentiality on a daily basis. Work well with other employees. Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. Follow safety procedures established by the Texas Department of Radiation Control. Participate in the department on-call. WHY EHD?

EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
EXPERIENCE
One year experience in CT required. One year experience as a registered technologist required.
PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS
Knowledge of radiologic procedures and equipment. Effective oral and written communication skills. Familiar with operating computers and ability to utilize computer systems.
LICENSURE, REGISTRY, CERTIFICATIONS
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography required. Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certification by the Texas Medical Board required.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Duties of the position require moderate standing, walking, twisting, reaching, and handling of equipment. Lifting up to 52 pounds and occasional pushing, pulling and heavy lifting, including lifting and supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
