Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and ingenuity. Makes independent value judgments when supervision is not available. Assumes responsibility for achieving quality work, setting up patient load and maintaining schedules. Has individual responsibility for specified CT procedures. Performs assigned duties promptly and efficiently. Complies with instructions from the supervisor to whom responsible. Maintains good working relationship with co-workers and other University Health System employees, patients, doctors, and guests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Registry by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists or equivalent, and Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board (TMB) is required. Advanced certification in CT is preferred. CT technologists who are not advanced certified, are required to have documentation that they have participated in education that prepares them to achieve advanced CT certification. One year of experience as a registered radiologic technologist with a working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy is preferred.
