Part Time X-ray Technician Utah Orthopaedics Washington Terrace, UT Job Details Part-time $24.57 - $31.60 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Anatomy knowledge Mammography Physiology knowledge X-ray Medical imaging ARRT Certification Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Full Job Description This is a Part Time Position. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Shifts could include 2-3 days per week. Most likely Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Friday mornings. We are growing and this position will most likely grow to more hours. Provides quality radiographs utilizing the selection of appropriate technical factors. Consistently maintains a reject analysis rate below or equal to the national average. MUST be Willing to learn and be trained to do "Dual Energy X-ray absorptiometry" (aka DXA) scanning while on the job. DXA experience highly preferred. Uses radiographic equipment as instructed during orientation. Reports any equipment issues to office manager as they arise. Patient communication and preparation including removal of garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure and explaining how the process works. Positioning patients properly to obtain x-rays Setting the equipment to obtain the best density, detail, and contrast of the area being imaged. Taking preventative steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation. Applying your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process in order to help the physician diagnose problems. Must be able to closely follow physician instructions, prepare radiography equipment, position patients, and obtain optimal images for diagnosis. Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients including the elderly, ailing, and handicapped. Assures a clean, stocked work area by maintaining examination rooms, workstations and break areas. Make all effort to keep physician on schedule with patients. Verifies studies into PACs system.
