This contract role requires a skilled Mammography Technologist to perform radiographic mammography procedures that produce high-quality diagnostic films essential for detecting breast tissue abnormalities. The position demands independent judgment, creativity, and initiative, working with minimal supervision to carry out a variety of mammography tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify patient identification and exam orders while preparing patients for mammographic examinations. Conduct radiologic mammography exams following department protocols, including advanced procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages. Operate mammographic equipment skillfully to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Employ radiation protection methods consistent with ALARA requirements to ensure safety for patients and staff. Maintain proficiency by staying current with new equipment and procedural advancements. Accurately complete documentation and records as required by JCAHO and the Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control, including time stamps and image storage.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist. Bachelor's degree in a health science program from an accredited institution (degree verification required). Valid Utah State License. ARRT (R)(M) certification required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Radiation badge required for this role.

Schedule:

Four 10-hour shifts per week. Weekend availability required.
