As a Mammography Technologist in this travel role, you will perform advanced diagnostic mammography procedures, including stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages. You'll play a crucial role in detecting breast tissue abnormalities and ensuring patient well-being—all while gaining exposure to different procedural styles and departmental operations that will elevate your resume and professional growth.
Schedule/Hours:
Travel position; schedule details provided during interview
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately identify patients and verify imaging orders Prepare patients for exams with compassion and professionalism Perform radiologic mammography procedures according to department protocols Operate imaging equipment, select appropriate techniques, and maneuver units to capture optimal diagnostic images Apply radiation protection best practices, adhering to ALARA principles to maximize safety Keep thorough and accurate documentation, including time stamps and compliant image storage practices Stay current on advances in mammography techniques and equipment Maintain records to meet state and regulatory guidelines
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in diagnostic mammography, including advanced procedures Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Familiarity with JCAHO and state radiation control requirements Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach Relevant certifications (state and national, as required)
