Conduct advanced MRI exams for neurological (brain and spine), orthopedic (joints, muscles, and ligaments), and cardiovascular cases, supporting diagnosis of strokes, tumors, sports injuries, and vascular disorders. Perform specialized imaging procedures such as breast, prostate, and cardiac MRIs, tailoring protocols to address patient history and specific diagnostic requirements. Screen and assess patients with implanted devices (e.g., pacemakers, neurostimulators, vascular clips) to ensure MRI safety and facilitate complex imaging in high-acuity clinical situations. Key Responsibilities Administer MRI contrast agents according to protocol. Review and approve patient MRI safety screening forms prior to scanning. Apply knowledge of MRI safety zones and regulations to ensure a safe environment. Evaluate patient records for accuracy and thoroughly assess implants and medical devices using vendor resources. Serve as liaison between radiologists, referring physicians, and supportive care personnel. Perform MRI exams following established protocols. Review images for diagnostic accuracy and quality before submitting for interpretation. Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, reports, and departmental files. Explain MRI examinations and procedures to patients, ensuring understanding and comfort. Complete all departmental documentation as required. Qualifications Completion of MRI school/MRI certificate program OR Graduate of a 24-month program in radiologic technology in lieu of experience. CNMT or ARDMS or ARRT or ARMRIT is required (Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within two years of hire) BLS Certification 1 year of experience in a Radiology Technologist position including X-ray, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, or Ultrasound (Preferred) 6 months MR experience or completion of MR didactic program (Preferred) Experience with GE and Siemens Equipment (Preferred)
