$2046.00•$2108.00 This Mammography Technologist position is based in Suffolk, Virginia, in the Harbour View area of the city. Suffolk is part of the Hampton Roads region, placing you within easy reach of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and the beaches of Virginia Beach. The community offers a blend of suburban comfort, coastal access, and historic charm, with tree-lined neighborhoods, ample green space, and plenty of local dining and shopping options. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy nearby waterways, trails, and parks, while cultural and entertainment venues across the region provide concerts, festivals, and family-friendly events throughout the year. The Harbour View corridor is known for its modern, master-planned environment, with contemporary medical campuses, retail centers, and residential developments clustered in a convenient, easy-to-navigate area. As a Mammography Technologist in this setting, you can expect a clean, updated workspace with dedicated women's imaging services and a focus on preventive, patient-centered care. The location is commuter-friendly, with access to major highways connecting to neighboring cities and regional attractions. In this role, you will provide high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams for a primarily adult female population in a women's imaging environment within a medical center. The schedule is day-shift focused, supporting a predictable routine and work-life balance. Patient volumes may vary by day, but are generally structured to allow for careful positioning, thorough patient education, and attention to image quality. You will work alongside a collaborative team of technologists, radiologists, and support staff who are committed to a professional and respectful environment. Daily responsibilities include preparing exam rooms and equipment, verifying patient history and orders, performing mammography exams to MQSA and ACR standards, and ensuring accurate documentation within the EMR, RIS, and PACS systems. You will perform patient positioning, compression, and image acquisition with an emphasis on comfort, privacy, and clear communication. Technologists in this environment are also involved in basic quality control checks on mammography equipment and images, supporting ongoing accreditation and regulatory compliance. A typical day may involve a mix of routine screening appointments and scheduled diagnostic studies, with occasional add-on exams. You can expect to coordinate with radiologists regarding special views, additional imaging, or follow-up procedures. Workflows are designed to support efficient patient throughput while maintaining a calm, patient-friendly atmosphere. Depending on the specific setup of the imaging center, you may also assist with guiding patients through the process for further imaging or biopsy scheduling, ensuring seamless transitions in care. The imaging environment emphasizes evidence-based practice, safety, and continuous improvement. There are opportunities to grow professionally by learning new techniques, participating in quality initiatives, and working alongside experienced breast imaging specialists. Technologists who take pride in accuracy, consistency, and patient rapport will find this setting particularly rewarding. Required Qualifications Mammography Technologist, Mammography
