SMOC has been providing quality orthopedic services to southeastern Virginia for more than 30 years. We have 3 locations in the Hampton Roads Area now! We are currently looking for a Radiology Technologist responsible assist our team in performing x-rays, preparing patients and explain procedures, for our Chesapeake, Harbour View and Suffolk locations. What you'll be doing Prepare patients for examination, escort them to the treatment room and be present during examination/treatment to assist the physician in treatment procedures. Duties include taking routine x-rays, maintaining x-ray films, assisting doctors with various tasks including assisting in ESIs, casting, and suture removal. Mentor students Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members. You'll be detailed and timely when it comes to communication with payers and clinical partners in order to facilitate compliance with payer contractual requirements. You will ensure documentation of appropriate information in the patient's record. You're always giving 100% - learning and taking on more responsibilities and not afraid to jump in to help when you can. What we're looking for Must be ARRT registered and have Virginia State X-Ray License. Insurance knowledge An exceptional communicator. Ability to handle stressful and/or confidential situations with ease, and professionalism. A rock-solid understanding of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.). Bonus points if you have EMR knowledge.
