Job Summary The Radiology Imaging Assistant at Prevea Health, under the immediate supervision of the radiology technologists on duty and supervising staff, assists in performing imaging procedures on patients in the radiology department and the overall department workflow. What you will do Room radiology patients by greeting the patient in the waiting room, showing them to the changing room, instructing them on how to change for the exam and taking patients history. Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards by following proper cleaning protocols. Ensure appropriate levels of supplies for each room by stocking and ordering when needed. Perform exams only under the direct/indirect supervision of a radiology technologist. This can include assisting the technologist in holding or positioning patients for exams. Record, process, and maintain patient data within the electronic medical record and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Use radiation safety measures and protection devises to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of patients and staff Possibility to perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing as ordered by providers Education Qualifications Currently enrolled in a radiology technologist or general x-ray program working towards licensure. As well as actively participating in clinical rotations for the x-ray program. Required Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to provide patient care. Basic knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors. Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level. Possess skills to effectively problem solve. Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone and office equipment. Possess effective written and verbal communication.
