Job Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking an experienced Travel X-Ray Technologist to join its Radiology Department for a 13-week assignment. This opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule, a collaborative imaging team, and the chance to work in a high-volume acute care hospital providing diagnostic imaging services to diverse patient populations.

Not Available Position Overview The X-Ray Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations while delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining strict radiation safety standards. The technologist collaborates with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient workflow and timely diagnosis across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical services. Primary Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiographic examinations for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. Produce high-quality digital images while adhering to ALARA radiation safety principles. Operate fixed and portable digital radiography equipment in multiple clinical environments. Assist physicians during fluoroscopic, orthopedic, trauma, and surgical imaging procedures when needed. Perform portable bedside imaging throughout Emergency Department, ICU, OR, PACU, and inpatient units. Verify physician orders, accurately identify patients, and ensure proper positioning and image quality. Utilize PACS and hospital EMR systems for image documentation and workflow management. Maintain imaging equipment, quality control standards, infection prevention protocols, and departmental compliance. Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining productivity in a fast-paced hospital environment. Preferred Clinical Experience Candidates with experience in the following areas are highly competitive: Level I or Level II Trauma Centers Emergency Department Imaging Operating Room Imaging C-Arm Procedures Mobile/Portable Radiography Orthopedic Imaging Surgical Imaging Fluoroscopy Trauma Imaging ICU and Critical Care Imaging Pediatric Imaging Inpatient and Outpatient Radiology Digital Radiography PACS Workflow Epic, Cerner, or other hospital EMR systems Required Qualifications ARRT (R) Registered Radiologic Technologist Active State Radiologic Technologist License (if applicable) Current BLS Certification Strong knowledge of radiation protection, anatomy, positioning, and image evaluation Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care skills Ability to work independently in a high-volume acute care environment Core Technical Skills Digital Radiography (DR) Portable X-Ray Trauma Imaging C-Arm Imaging Surgical Radiography Orthopedic Imaging Chest Imaging Abdomen Imaging Spine Imaging Extremity Imaging Fluoroscopy Assistance PACS Quality Assurance Radiation Safety Infection Prevention Patient Positioning Contrast Procedure Assistance Equipment Quality Control Electronic Medical Record Documentation Why This Assignment?
