In this role, you will design, organize, and lead a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors, including those that require specialized memory care. Your positive energy will foster a lively community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and enhance overall well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while utilizing your creativity and caregiving skills. Duties Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene during events when needed. Collaborate with nursing staff and family members to assess individual needs and modify activities accordingly. Lead group exercises, games, arts and crafts sessions, music therapy, and outings that promote physical movement and mental stimulation. Maintain accurate records of participation, resident preferences, and activity outcomes for ongoing care planning. Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages socialization and emotional well-being among residents. Skills Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or long-term care settings. Strong background in senior care, dementia or Alzheimer's care, memory care programs, or working with individuals with disabilities. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents of varying cognitive levels and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of caregiving techniques related to assisting with ADLs and managing aging issues counseling. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting activities to changing resident needs. Familiarity with home & community care practices and experience in long-term or assisted living environments is highly desirable.
