Recreational Therapist

Starting Pay Range:

$24.54-$26.50 Job description College Hospital is a non-profit organization that provides mental health and substance abuse treatment to individuals and families in Cerritos, CA. We are seeking 1 full time Activity Therapist to join our team in our Cerritos, CA location. Our Activity Therapy program is designed to meet and provide direct patient care to the community needs of individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders.

Job Duties:

Develops outcome based treatment goals and interventions for patients. Demonstrates competency in dealing with the emotional and psychological behaviors exhibited by patients during group situations. Effectively conducts 3-4 groups daily. Completes a minimum of 18-20 assessments a week. Collaborates with and mentors A.T. Aides in program services, group leadership and documentation. Inputs and reviews AT Assessments, daily group notes and weekly treatment plans in the EMR system. Effectively performs additional duties and responsibilities as position requires.

Required Skills:

Degree and Certification in Recreational Therapy and a National or State certification is required. Prior experience with inpatient psychiatric and/or mentally disabled population preferred. Ability to assess the age specific needs for all patients and the capability to work with adolescents and adults. $24.54 - $26.50 per hour
