As a Recreation Director you will develop, plan, organize and direct the implementation of activity/recreation programs in accordance with current state and federal guidelines and regulations, and Company policies and procedures. Programs are designed in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, spiritual and psychosocial well-being of each resident. An activity director shall be designated by and be responsible to the program director. Activity staff with appropriate training and experience shall be available to meet the needs and interest of clients. (1) At a minimum, all activity staff shall have graduated from high school or possess a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and have a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, working in a mental health program serving persons with mental disabilities. Such experience shall be in the direct provision of services to a program's identified clients or residents. A bachelors degree with a major in psychology, social work or behavioral sciences may be substituted for the two (2) years of full-time work experience or its part-time equivalent. (A) Persons who have been consumers of mental health services may be utilized in the activity program when consistent with program design and services provided, and (a)(1) above. (2) The mental health rehabilitation center shall provide at least one (1) hour of activity program staff time for each seven (7) hours of activity programs provided to each client. (b) An activity director shall be designated by and be responsible to the program director. (1) Be an occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, or recreation therapist. (2) Have two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, one (1) year of which was full-time in client activities and programs in a mental health setting.
Must have:
2-4 years' experience working with an adult population in healthcare setting, delivering activity therapy required Flexible with the ability to adapt to change Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines Must have valid driver's license, clear DMV record, and be insurable under Company's insurance policy Must be able to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the job Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care Nice to have: Bachelor's degree from accredited college Certification or training in therapeutic recreation Supervisory experience Previous experience in Skilled Nursing environment Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, veteran or disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
