This vital role involves creating vibrant, meaningful experiences that promote participants' well-being, independence, and social connection. The Activities Director will coordinate a diverse range of events and therapeutic activities tailored to participants' interests and needs, fostering a lively and supportive environment that enhances quality of life. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on seniors' daily experiences while utilizing your creativity, organizational skills, and passion for elder care. Duties Plan, organize, and execute a variety of engaging activities including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, and special events that cater to residents' interests and abilities. Collaborate with nursing staff, to develop personalized activity plans that support residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive health. Lead recreational therapy sessions designed to stimulate memory and cognitive function for residents with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed during events to promote independence and participation. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced calendar of events that encourages socialization and participation among all residents. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, preferences, and progress while ensuring compliance with safety standards and care plans. Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere by encouraging resident involvement, promoting social interaction, and supporting emotional well-being through meaningful engagement. Experience Preferred experience in event planning within assisted living facilities or nursing homes . Experience in senior care environments such as long-term care or home & community care settings. Preferred knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care programs, dementia care strategies, and recreational therapy techniques. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments while maintaining patience and empathy. Strong communication skills for coordinating with staff, families, volunteers, and residents to ensure successful program delivery. Preferred experience assisting residents with ADLs such as mobility, dressing, or personal hygiene during activities is advantageous.
