Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an Activities Director, where your passion for enriching lives and creating engaging experiences will shine! In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a variety of recreational and social activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of residents. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will foster a vibrant community atmosphere, promote well-being, and enhance the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through innovative programming and compassionate care. Schedule Sunday - Thursday (9am-5:30pm) Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activities calendar that caters to residents' interests, abilities, and health needs, including memory care and dementia-specific programs Plan and execute engaging events such as arts and crafts, music therapy, outings, fitness classes, and social gatherings to promote socialization and mental stimulation Collaborate with healthcare staff to incorporate therapeutic recreational activities aligned with residents' care plans, including assisted living and long-term care requirements Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility, grooming, or other personal care tasks during activity sessions to promote independence Manage scheduling logistics for events, transportation arrangements for outings, and volunteer or staff assignments to ensure smooth operations Maintain detailed records of participation, resident preferences, and activity outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and tailor future offerings Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare providers, and team members to ensure activities meet individual needs and safety standards Has to be open to driving the bus for any outings, doctors appointments, etc. Experience Proven experience in event planning within senior care settings such as assisted living facilities or nursing homes Strong background in recreational therapy or working directly with individuals with disabilities or dementia-related conditions Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care programming, and aging issues counseling is highly desirable Prior experience in caregiving or long-term care environments demonstrating compassion and patience Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with scheduling management tools and documentation practices related to senior care programs Demonstrated ability to adapt activities for diverse cognitive and physical abilities while ensuring safety and enjoyment Join us in creating a lively community where every resident feels valued, engaged, and supported! Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
