Job Description

Job Summary The Activities Director plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and nursing home settings. This position involves planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and cognitive stimulation for seniors, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. The Activities Director will work closely with residents, their families, and staff to create a vibrant community atmosphere that supports the well-being of all individuals. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents. Plan and organize events, outings, and recreational activities that encourage participation from all residents. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with residents' health plans and capabilities. Provide support in assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed. Facilitate memory care programs specifically designed for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve programming. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding upcoming events and individual resident needs. Manage schedules for activities to ensure a balanced offering throughout the week. Stay informed about aging issues and incorporate relevant topics into programming to enhance resident engagement. Qualifications Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is highly desirable. Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and caregiving practices is essential. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with seniors and their families. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while being flexible to accommodate resident needs. Background in social work or aging issues counseling is a plus. Experience working with people with disabilities is beneficial. A passion for enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful activities. Pay:
