Join the opening leadership team at Belmont Village Rancho Santa Fe, a newly constructed luxury senior living community where exceptional hospitality, innovative programming, and outstanding resident experiences come together. Nestled within the gated community of Lakes of Rancho Santa Fe, our premier Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care community offers a unique opportunity to help shape community culture and establish best-in-class resident engagement and life enrichment programs from day one. As the Activity Programs Director , you will lead the planning, development, and execution of activities, life enrichment programs, and resident engagement initiatives that promote wellbeing, lifelong learning, social connection, and purpose for seniors. This leadership role oversees program development, team management, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance while creating meaningful experiences for Independent Living and Assisted Living residents. Supported by experienced Regional and Corporate teams, you will help build an engaging, hospitality-focused environment where residents thrive and employees make a lasting impact.
YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes resident socialization, growth, learning & development by planning, implementing & engaging residents for activities in the following categories: physical/ exercise, entertainment, social, religious, recreational/creative, volunteering, intellectual, special requests of residents Coordinates and accompanies scheduled outings as needed Develops an informative monthly newsletter including a calendar of community events Plans, coordinates & implements decor for special events, seasons and holidays. Manages the Transportation Team including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching Provides technological support and training to residents as needed Recruits, trains & coordinates volunteers to support community activities and events Works collaboratively with community management, regional and corporate support teams Effectively communicates with and offers support to resident family members as needed Conducts interviewing and hiring, evaluates employee performance, provides coaching and employee training, and delegates assignments for all direct reports
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience coordinating and leading dynamic activities with groups of 15 or more Demonstrated strengths in creativity, oral and written communication, and organizational skills Bachelor's degree in related field such as Therapeutic Recreation, Theater, Kinesiology, Education, etc. Demonstrated success in the use of technology in activities and technology troubleshooting skills Ability to work flexible schedules in 24 hour operation including weekends as needed Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community Please note that the above Responsibilities and Qualifications provide a general overview of the primary duties for this role and the basic qualifications.
