Job Description

Job Summary Voted "Best of SLO" for three consecutive years, The Villages at Garden Creek is an assisted living retirement community seeking a dynamic and organized leader to join our Life Enrichment Team. In collaboration with the Senior Director of Life Enrichment, the Associate Director supports the development and execution of a vibrant Life Enrichment Program that enhances seniors' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being and reduces isolation. This role oversees creating, scheduling, and delivering meaningful and engaging activities. Programs include daily exercise classes, live entertainment, intergenerational connections, art classes and community games, as well as shopping, cultural and nature-based outings. This role requires creativity and administrative skills, paired with curiosity, patience, and compassion. The Associate Director's time is divided between behind-the-scenes planning, day-to-day facilitation of activities, and relationship building with residents. The atmosphere in our Life Enrichment Department is collaborative, dynamic and grounded in meaningful connections - you will not be tied to a desk. Key Responsibilities Design and implement a comprehensive life enrichment program that promotes socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being. Accompany outings and support on-site events Build strong relationships with residents & encourage engagement Develop, publish and post monthly activities calendars Supervise and train life enrichment assistants Lead exercise and / or art classes Set up and facilitate activities including games, theme parties and special events Collaborate with Marketing to capture content for promotional use Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to assisted living Qualifications Strong computer skills Competence with Canva and Microsoft Word Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects to completion Creative, solution-based problem solver Experience in senior living, teaching, event planning, or related field preferred College Degree preferred Available to work full-time Sunday-Thursday Ability to clear background check Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk and stand for long periods of time
