Job Description

Category Schools - School Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting local schools as a School Therapist. This part-time position, available from August 12th, 2026 through June 4th, 2027, offers around 5-10 hours each week. You'll have the satisfaction of working with a small, diverse caseload and using your specialized skills to make a meaningful difference in students' lives. What you'll bring: One of the following credentials:
  • Certificate from the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification, or
  • Credential from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation, or
  • Certification from the National Recreation and Park Association, enabling you to provide recreation or therapeutic recreation services Experience or passion for working within school settings Strong ability to provide virtual therapy (VOCO candidates are encouraged to apply) Excellent communication, assessment, and reporting skills Confidence participating in team meetings such as IEPs What you'll do: Deliver effective therapeutic recreation sessions weekly for four students across multiple school sites: • Provide 45-minute sessions for one student, and 30-85 minute sessions for the others as assigned Conduct initial and ongoing student assessments Participate in annual IEP meetings, sharing insights and collaborating with educational teams Track progress and ensure documentation is accurate and in compliance with school standards Enjoy working on a flexible, part-time schedule that harmonizes with your other commitments, while helping students thrive and grow in their educational community.
