Job Description

Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Assistant KFRC Inpatient Rehabilitation Service Director, assists in program development, activity, planning/scheduling and in primarily responsible for conducting the inpatient rehabilitation patient activity program for all KFRC inpatient including children, adolescents, and adults and seniors.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for securing weekly funds to purchase supplies, snacks and prizes for patient activities, i.e., bingo night or movie night. Responsible for furnishing receipts to justify the expenditure for account reconciliation through the business office. Assists in planning, organizing and implementing therapeutic recreation program and service for day, evening and weekend schedules, taking into consideration age specific needs for communication, activity planning and equipment use. Uses the Age related Development Needs Chart as a reference to in activity planning. Communicates patient participation to assailant KFRC inpatient Rehab Services Director to convey progress or pro to the Rehab team. Must collaborate with the Volunteer Department on special events, i.e., rehab patient 4th of July party and rehab patient Christmas party. Primary area of responsibility for these functions is providing posters for events promotion and purchasing prices or gifts. Responsible for patient library, therapy storage area, therapy equipment and supplies. Conducts entertainer through the Rehab facility as appropriate. Makes recombination and suggestion related to policies and procedures, etc. Alerts supervisors regarding needs for material and equipment. Maintains security and care of departmental equipment/supplies utilized. Complies with facility policies and procedure, especially on safety and infection control. Maintains clean professional appearance and complies with facility and department dress code. Notifies staff of any unsafe conditions observed. Motivates patients to cooperate with recreation program by consistently demonstrating clear, compassionate and age specific communication skills. Aware of violent and adult content of movies begin shown and post rating to alerts patient, staff and family of film content. Performs other duties to assist with the effective performance of KFRC therapy programs.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience One (1) year experience in recreation and/or education.
Education High School Diploma License, Certification, Registration N/A Additional Requirements:
Relevant education or training may be substituted for experience. Must be willing to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
