  • 24/hour BOE Westgate Gardens Care Center is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Activities Director to lead our resident activities program.

Competitive pay Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay 401(k) retirement plan Supportive and collaborative leadership team Career growth and advancement opportunities Employee appreciation and recognition programs General Purpose The primary purpose of the Activities Director position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current federal, state, local, and corporate regulations to ensure an ongoing program of meaningful activities that meets the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of each resident. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plan, develop, organize, implement, and direct resident-centered activities and programs Develop monthly activity calendars including group activities, outings, and in-room activities for residents unable to attend group functions Encourage resident participation in hobbies, crafts, games, reading, music, and social events Coordinate transportation arrangements for resident outings and appointments as needed Participate in resident assessments, care planning, and discharge planning processes Maintain accurate and descriptive activity documentation and progress notes Participate in Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Safety, Family Council, and department meetings Assist with survey preparation and plans of correction related to activity services Promote positive communication with residents, families, staff, and the community Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility guidelines Assist in supervising and supporting activity staff Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum one year of experience in a long-term care setting preferred Licenses & Certifications Activity Director certification required Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Creative, organized, and resident-focused approach Ability to work independently and collaboratively Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and regulations Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Ability to assist residents during activities and outings Work Environment Skilled nursing facility setting Low to moderate noise level Active, resident-centered environment Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement Westgate Gardens Care Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
