Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Part-Time/Full-Time Activity Assistant to enhance the quality of life for residents in a long-term care facility. In this role, you will plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, Long Term Care environments, or related settings, with a strong understanding of dementia and Alzheimer's care. A passion for working with seniors and the ability to create meaningful, person-centered activities are essential. 2014 for any questions Duties Develop and coordinate engaging recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including memory care and dementia-specific programs Manage activity schedules to ensure a balanced and stimulating program throughout the week Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to identify individual needs and preferences Facilitate therapeutic activities such as recreational therapy sessions aimed at improving cognitive function and emotional health Support residents in maintaining social connections through community outings, games, arts and crafts, music therapy, and other leisure pursuits Assist with event planning for special occasions, holidays, or resident celebrations Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a warm and welcoming environment Qualifications Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care settings preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and senior care best practices Strong communication skills with the ability to engage residents effectively Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing seniors' quality of life Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment Flexibility to adapt activities based on residents' changing needs and abilities This position provides an enriching opportunity to contribute positively to the lives of seniors while developing valuable skills in elder care and activity planning.Pay:
