In this vital role, you will create vibrant activity schedules that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for residents. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will foster a lively environment where seniors feel valued, connected, and inspired to enjoy their daily lives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of older adults through innovative programming and dedicated care. Responsibilities Develop, plan, and execute diverse recreational activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and Alzheimer's support. Coordinate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to ensure activities compliment individual care plans and promote overall well-being. Lead engaging group events such as arts and crafts, music sessions, outings, fitness classes, and social gatherings that encourage participation across all levels of ability. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during events to foster independence and confidence. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced mix of entertainment, therapeutic exercises, and social opportunities. Monitor residents' responses to activities, adjusting programs accordingly to maximize engagement and enjoyment. Maintain detailed records of participation, resident preferences, and activity outcomes to inform ongoing programming improvements. Supervise and provide daily direction to Activity staff, including scheduling, training and performance monitoring, while ensuring compliance with policies and quality standards. Skills Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or nursing home settings; familiarity with long-term care environments is highly desirable. Strong background in dementia care, or memory care programs tailored for seniors with cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, residents, families, and community partners. Knowledge of aging issues, counseling and caregiving techniques to support residents' emotional and social needs. Ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently while prioritizing resident safety and comfort. Compassionate approach combined with organizational prowess to create enriching experiences that enhance quality of life for seniors.
