Therapeutic Recreation Director TRD

Havencare is seeking a TRD - Therapeutic Recreation Director - to join our team! You will perform a variety of duties to assist our residents in attaining and/or maintaining their highest levels of physical, mental, and social well-being. The Therapeutic Recreation Director position is a Part time position working eight hours a day, two days a week, which includes working every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and some holidays.

TRD Therapeutic Recreation Director Job Responsibilities & Duties:

Responsible for creating and scheduling monthly activities for the Activity Calendar. Maintain a safe environment for our residents Plan, prep, and lead appropriate group activities and one-to-one sessions to enhance physical, cognitive, and psychosocial skills.

Complete documentation:

assessments, admission assessment, progress notes, and attendance in compliance with State and Federal regulations. Input MDS/care plan data and attend meetings as necessary. Transport residents to and from the scheduled activity area. Prepare for the activity, run the activity, and clean up. Work cooperatively as part of the Recreation team Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies. Facilitate group process and manage the interpersonal needs of the residents.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree and TRD Certification Some Recreation experience preferred.

Licensure:

Valid driver's license. CT state Therapeutic Recreation Director (TRD) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
