Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC), Department of Economics - Georgetown University College of Arts RequirementsJob OverviewThe Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC), Department of Economics, the College of Arts and Sciences - Georgetown University, is responsible for fulfilling the academic and administrative responsibilities of the graduate programs within the Department of Economics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: support of current students, recruitment and admissions support to prospective students, academic affairs/student services to enrolled students, student research logistic support, and general administrative operations for the program. Overall, the Graduate Program Coordinator is responsible for all day-to-day, on-the-ground activities to manage and maintain a successful and healthy program. The Program Coordinator will also participate in program review.

In collaboration with the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS), the Master's Program Director, the Director of PhD Admissions, the PhD Job Placement Director, the Chair, and the Vice Chair, the Graduate Program Coordinator will provide the following support:
  • Serve as the main point-of-contact for graduate program inquiries, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in marketing and recruitment efforts for the program.
  • Prepare admissions files for review, maintain records of all applications and admission decisions, and process such decisions in Slate, the University's admissions systems.
  • Assist students in managing special requests (e.g. transfer of credits, leaves of absence, consortium requests, application for graduation / clearance and commencement preparations, etc.).
  • Support faculty members in the delivery of comprehensive exams and dissertation defenses, and in monitoring PhD and Master's students' progress to degree.
  • In collaboration with the Business Manager, maintain the annual budget for the graduate programs.
  • Assisting with general office duties, as needed.
Work InteractionsThe Graduate Program Coordinator interacts closely with the faculty, staff, and graduate students within the department. Interaction among campus departments include the Registrar, OGS, UIS, Special Events, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Graduate School Offices of Academic Affairs, Admissions and Financial Aid. The GPC reports directly to the Department Business Manager, and works closely with the Chair, Vice Chair and DGS. Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in student- or faculty-oriented service in a higher educational environment
  • Exceptional communication skills in customer services, problem-solving, and mediation
  • Self-motivated; independent, organized, and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to pick up new technology quickly
  • Experience managing multiple projects with multiple constituents and excellent time management
  • Understanding of appropriate and confidential communication, file management, and storage
  • Familiarity with Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a diverse, high intensity academic environment
  • Proficient with Workday, Box and web editing tools (WordPress), Banner/Cognos or other student information systems, Slate or other student admissions systems, and Workday Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as Hybrid.

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $47,586.00 - $87,558.13 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors....Visit the Employer site for more details
