JOB TITLE
Special Olympics Coordinator
SALARY:
Based on established EPER Schedule
REPORTS TO
Building Principal
TERM:
1 Year (Continued appointment beyond 1 year will be at the discretion of the Building Principal.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to supervise and assist students effectively. Good organizational/leadership skills. Fiscally responsible. Meets established deadlines. Willingness to travel with students via bus to district-wide or state-wide events.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, organize, and implement recreational and student leadership activities. Coordinates and leads specified on and off campus recreational and student leadership events. Assists in coaching students for specific Special Olympics/Unified Events. Maintains documentation regarding recreational activities and student involvement. Collaborates and plans with District Adapted PE Teacher and Supervisor of Special Education. Supports the promotion of school, district, and state fundraising efforts for Special Olympics Delaware. Works with school's Athletic Director and/or Principal to ensure Special Olympics' events are posted on school's website / sport website. Ensure that the school's Special Olympics/Unified team is included in yearbook pictures and/or other publications. Performs all other duties as assigned.
