Activities Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our long-term care facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, including those with dementia or disabilities. This role involves planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being. Responsibilities Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activity programs tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Facilitate group and individual activities, ensuring participation from all residents. Provide support to residents during activities, offering encouragement and assistance as needed. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with the care plans of residents. Maintain a safe and clean environment during all activities, adhering to health and safety regulations. Document resident participation and feedback to help improve future programming. Engage with families to promote involvement in resident activities and events. Skills Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to care for seniors in assisted living or nursing home settings. Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is highly desirable. Knowledge of long-term care practices, including dementia care and working with individuals with disabilities. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple activities effectively. Compassionate attitude towards senior care, demonstrating patience and understanding in all interactions.
