Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in creating vibrant, engaging, and meaningful experiences for our residents. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to meet the interests and needs of seniors, especially those requiring memory care or living with dementia. Your enthusiasm will help foster a lively community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and enhance overall well-being. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on residents' lives while utilizing your skills in event planning, senior care, and recreational therapy. Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity among residents Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to develop personalized activity plans aligned with individual abilities and preferences Assist in coordinating special events, outings, and themed programs that encourage community involvement and entertainment Support residents with daily activities and assist with their participation in recreational programs, including helping with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) when needed Monitor residents' responses to activities, ensuring safety and adapting plans as necessary for those with dementia or other health issues Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes for documentation purposes Foster an inclusive environment by working with individuals with disabilities or special needs to ensure they feel welcomed and engaged Skills Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity coordination within assisted living or nursing home settings Strong understanding of Alzheimer's care, memory care techniques, and dementia support strategies Knowledge of long-term care practices, home & community care experience, and caregiving principles Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, staff, and community partners Ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple activities throughout the day Compassionate approach to aging issues counseling and social work principles for supporting seniors' emotional well-being Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or special needs in a respectful and empowering manner Join us in creating a lively community where every resident feels valued, engaged, and supported!
