Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant team as an Activities Assistant and become a vital part of enriching the lives of seniors in our community! In this energetic role, you will coordinate and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of seniors, especially those requiring memory care or assistance with aging issues. Weekends are required. Duties Plan and implement a diverse range of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, games, music therapy, and outings that cater to residents' preferences and cognitive levels Coordinate special events and themed programs that encourage participation and community involvement Support residents with memory care needs by adapting activities to their cognitive abilities and ensuring a safe environment Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of programs while maintaining flexibility for individual needs Foster social interaction by encouraging participation and facilitating group dynamics in a warm, welcoming manner Collaborate with nursing staff and family members to develop personalized activity plans that enhance residents' quality of life Qualifications Experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred Prior work with individuals with disabilities or dementia care demonstrates your compassionate approach and adaptability Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and coordinate with team members Knowledge of aging issues, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and long-term care practices is advantageous Proven organizational skills for managing activity schedules and documentation accurately A caring attitude combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with seniors in a dynamic environment Embark on a fulfilling journey where your energy fuels joyful experiences!
