Job Description

Do You Like Students More Than Most Adults (but still kinda love adults)? Do you believe middle schoolers are hilarious, high school students are worth investing in, and that God can use both to change the world? Can you survive camp food, dodge a flying dodgeball, answer difficult theological questions, and somehow transition seamlessly into a conversation with a parent about discipleship? Do you love seeing students encounter Jesus, discover community, and step into the life God created them for? If so, keep reading. Grace City Church is looking for a Student Director to lead and develop a thriving ministry for middle and high school students while helping us accomplish our mission of helping people Live Like Jesus and Love Like Jesus... Every Day. Who We Are Grace City Church is a growing, relational church in Central Florida that exists to help people discover and follow Jesus. If you love the beach and lake life… this is the community for you! We're a church that values authenticity over appearances, relationships over programs, and discipleship over attendance. We want every person who walks through our doors to encounter Jesus, experience community, and find their place in God's story.
Our vision is simple:
Live Like Jesus. Love Like Jesus. Every Day. We believe that starts long before adulthood, which is why investing in students isn't something we do—it's who we are. What You'll Do... Lead GCStudents Create engaging environments for middle and high school students. Teach and communicate biblical truth in relevant and compelling ways. Build a culture where students can belong before they believe. Develop and disciple student leaders. Recruit, train, and care for volunteer leaders. Build meaningful relationships with students and families. Partner with Parents Encourage and equip parents as the primary spiritual influence in their homes. Communicate consistently with families. Help create a ministry that supports both students and parents. Build a Disciple-Making Ministry Create pathways for students to grow in their faith. Develop small groups, leadership opportunities, and outreach experiences. Help students move from attending ministry to owning their faith. Lead Camps, Retreats, and Outreach Plan and lead camps, retreats, mission opportunities, and special events. Create experiences students talk about for years (for the right reasons). Help students invite friends and engage their community. Work Alongside an Amazing Team Collaborate closely with our GCKids Director and staff team. Help create smooth transitions from kids ministry into student ministry. Contribute to the broader mission and culture of Grace City Church. What We're Looking For We're less interested in finding a celebrity youth pastor and more interested in finding a healthy leader who loves Jesus and people.
The Right Person Will Be:
Passionate about Jesus. Passionate about middle and high school students. A relational leader who naturally connects with people. Fun, approachable, and authentic. A strong communicator and teacher. A team player who enjoys collaboration. Organized enough to plan a camp without losing the registration forms. Flexible enough to laugh when the plan changes anyway. Committed to personal spiritual growth and healthy leadership. Experience & Qualifications Prior student ministry experience preferred. Ability to lead volunteers and build teams. Strong communication and organizational skills. Alignment with Grace City's mission, vision, and values. A growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus. Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time position and includes: Competitive salary Health benefits Paid time off Ministry expense reimbursement Ongoing leadership development Conference and training opportunities A supportive staff team that genuinely enjoys working together A Few Things You Should Know You'll spend time at football games, volleyball matches, camps, coffee shops, worship nights, and occasionally in conversations about why students think 11:00 PM is an appropriate time to text their pastor. You'll celebrate baptisms, answer hard questions, pray with hurting teenagers, and watch students discover who God created them to be. Some days you'll be exhausted. Most days you'll laugh. All days you'll have the opportunity to make an eternal impact. And honestly? We think that's pretty amazing. Ready to Apply? If you're excited about helping students Live Like Jesus and Love Like Jesus Every Day , we'd love to hear from you. We're hoping to fill this role by August 1st.
