Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta has been providing psychiatric services to the CSRA for more than 15-years. Located in Augusta, GA our 84-bed facility provides a therapeutic setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness. The Recreational Therapis t is responsible for implementing treatment activities and makes modifications based on patient's response due to mental illness, behavioral disturbance, or substance issues .

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Evaluation and implementation of therapeutic recreation programs designed to increase, maintain or restore physical and mental health function as directed by the physician. Responsible for assisting patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure, adaptive and recreational activities. Develop treatment plan based on evaluation findings and other relevant data gathered through treatment team that includes appropriate short and long term goals. Provides orientation to recreation therapy for patients by conducting groups in recreation therapy and based on the population of the group. Takes the time to plan the activities in advance in order to allow for effective introduction, the activity and closure. Assures the scheduling is done effectively on the weekends, in the evenings and in conjunction with approved off-campus activities. Responsible for working with a team in the delivery of care and participates in educational experiences for interns.
