This role is responsible for developing meaningful, engaging activities that enhance residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, and implement a monthly activity calendar tailored to both assisted living and memory care residents Create engaging programs that promote independence, dignity, and quality of life Adapt activities to meet the needs of residents with cognitive impairments and varying levels of ability Coordinate special events, outings, holiday celebrations, and family engagement activities Lead group and oneonone activities including fitness, arts, music, games, and sensory programming Collaborate with nursing and care staff to support individualized resident care plans Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers as appropriate Maintain activity supplies, budget, and documentation in compliance with state regulations Encourage resident participation and build strong relationships with residents and families
Qualifications:
Previous experience in activities, recreation, or life enrichment—preferably in assisted living, memory care, or senior living Strong understanding of dementia care and personcentered programming Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills Creative, upbeat, and patient personality Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
