Recreation Therapy Specialist:

Lead and facilitate daily programming as outlined by the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). Promote engagement in meaningful activities that support psychosocial well-being and life skills. Provide individualized neurocognitive and neurobehavioral support. Implement de-escalation strategies as needed. Maintain professional relationships with persons served, families, and team members. Previous experience working with individuals with neuro diagnoses. Associate degree or higher (no degree required). Direct care background working with individuals with disabilities and/or neurological diagnoses. An excellent candidate for this position meets the following criteria: Excellent time management, organization, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with electronic documentation systems. Personable and adaptable to meet persons served needs throughout the day. Problem solving skills and ability to demonstrate flexible thinking within a fast paced environment.
