Morningside University is now accepting applications for the position of Student Activities Coordinator. The Student Activities Coordinator is primary responsibility of coordinating activities on Morningside's campus. The coordinator will advise the Morningside Activities Council (M.A.C.) and run the university's recreational sports programs (Intramurals). The Student Activities Coordinator collaborates with campus departments and student organizations to create inclusive, educational, and engaging co-curricular experiences that support student success, leadership development, and a strong sense of belonging. The coordinator supervises M.A.C. and Intramurals student employees and provides leadership in campus programming and student engagement initiatives. Evening and weekend work is required.Duties and Responsibilities:
Morningside Activity Council- Advise the Morningside Activities Council (M.A.C.)
- Manage the M.A.C. programming budget and administer event contracts and riders.
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate M.A.C. events and other assigned programs and activities.
- Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, transportation, chaperones, setup, and teardown.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate M.A.C. members and other student employees.
- Facilitate weekly meetings with the M.A.C. Board and other campus activity groups.
- Lead M.A.C. participation in conferences such as NACA (National Association of Campus Activities) for event booking and leadership development.
- Operate university vehicles as needed.
- Ensure events comply with university policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws, address policy violations as necessary.
- Promote a safe and secure environment for all event participants and staff.
- Implement appropriate risk management practices for campus events and activities. Intramurals
- Oversee the university's recreational sports programs.
- Design, schedule, and manage intramural programs and registrations.
- Create rulebooks and establish program policies.
- Recruit, hire, and train student employees (game officials, scorekeepers, …). Student Engagement & University Collaboration
- Develop and implement a comprehensive campus programming calendar.
- Market and promote events to students using effective communication strategies.
- Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to deliver diverse programming.
- Design innovative and inclusive programs that reflect the needs and interests of a diverse student population.
- Assess program effectiveness through participation data, feedback, and engagement trends.
- Serve on institutional committees (e.g., Homecoming, Orientation, Family Weekend) as assigned. Student Life
- Participate in regular meetings with the Dean of Students.
- Serve on committees and contribute to broader student life initiatives.

- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
- Experience in student activities, campus programming, event management, or student leadership development preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, and administrators.
- Experience in event planning, student services, or student activities.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Valid U.S. driver's license required.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations, including physical tasks such as event setup and teardown.
