POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the corporate mission and vision. Responsible for providing exceptional customer service to residents and their families. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with organizational standards and policies. Assists in planning and organizing balanced and diversified activity programs to include social, intellectual, spiritual, and physical programs for residents utilizing the Montessori Method.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for maintaining effective resident relations. Assists Activity Director by participating in the coordination and implementation of planned activities. Understands and utilizes activity connection program to assist Activity Director as needed. Understands and follows the Montessori Method of activity for residents with a degenerative cognitive diagnosis. Provide encouragement, motivation, and support for residents through individual and group interactions. Provide one on one activities with individualized residents as needed or appropriate. Transports residents to activity programs within and outside of WinnPrairie. Cross train with the Resident Services Coordinator, Food and Beverage Servers and Housekeeping Attendants to ensure consistent service at all times. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Activity Assistant Skills and Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent Flexible schedule Able to collaborate effectively with other community employees and managers to ensure teamwork Excellent organizational skills Excellent time management skills Experience working with seniors Experience working with seniors with Alzheimer's and dementia
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sitting for extended period of time Standing for extended period of time Pushing residents in wheelchair Some moderating lifting may be required Good manual dexterity to assist with maintenance if needed and use of common office equipment
