  • 5pm or 8am-4pm The Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) is seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a therapist in the Safe From the Start program at the main Peoria location. Our mission at CFPA is to help all people
  • women, men, and children, live free from violence and abuse, and our therapists are instrumental in bringing that mission to life.
The Safe From the Start therapist will complete assessments, provide information, and therapeutic intervention to children ages 0-5 who have been exposed to violence. The therapist will provided trauma-informed therapy services to children exposed to violence and demonstrate a collaborative, community-based approach to supporting families. The therapist will assist parents with issues relating to discipline, child exposure to violence, domestic violence, and more, and assist the Safe From the Start program administrator with meetings and additional coalition needs. Must have a master's degree in education, social work, counseling, or related field, or a bachelor's degree in the same area with three years of experience. Must be passionate about CFPA's mission, work well independently and as a team, and have exceptional soft skills. At CFPA, we believe everyone deserves peace

A pioneer in providing services to victims of violence, CFPA has grown from a single rape crisis hotline that started in 1975 to a highly respected statewide leader in working to end abuse and break the cycle of generational violence. CFPA is the only agency in the entire state sanctioned to provide its combined services of Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse/Assault, Human Trafficking, Adult Protective Services, and Prevention Education under one roof. CFPA operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and all victim services are free and confidential.
