Responsibilities include:

Plan, organize, and lead engaging daily and monthly activity programs Develop individualized activity plans based on each resident's interests and abilities Coordinate holiday celebrations, community events, outings, entertainment, and special programs Encourage resident participation while promoting independence and dignity Complete resident assessments, care plans, progress notes, and required documentation Collaborate with Nursing, Therapy, Social Services, and other departments to support resident care Coordinate volunteers, entertainers, and community partnerships Maintain activity calendars, supplies, and department budgets Visit residents unable to attend group activities and provide meaningful one-on-one engagement Participate in state surveys and ensure regulatory compliance Create an environment where residents feel valued, connected, and excited to participate each day What We're Looking For Two years of related experience preferred, especially in long-term care Experience leading recreational or therapeutic activity programs is a plus Creative, organized, and self-motivated Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate individual who enjoys working with seniors Positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork and dependable attendance Why This Role Matters The Activity Director plays an essential role in creating a vibrant community where residents don't just live—they thrive.
