In this role, you will design, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of our residents. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging activities that cater to residents' interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and special events Assess residents' individual needs and preferences to develop personalized activity plans that promote socialization and cognitive health Collaborate with care teams to integrate therapeutic activities such as recreational therapy, dementia care strategies, and memory care initiatives Facilitate group sessions and one-on-one interactions to encourage participation and foster community spirit Manage activity schedules efficiently, ensuring timely setup and cleanup of materials and spaces Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation, activity outcomes, and progress notes for care planning purposes Stay informed about best practices in senior care, assisted living, Alzheimer's care, and working with individuals with disabilities to continuously enhance program offerings Requirements Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and senior care best practices Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents with diverse needs and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and supporting residents' independence Ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail Background in caregiving or long-term care environments is highly preferred Familiarity with aging issues counseling, social work principles, and home & community care experience is advantageous Join us in creating a lively atmosphere where every resident feels valued, engaged, and connected.
