In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Duties Plan, organize, and lead a variety of engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive function, and physical activity for residents. Collaborate with care teams to develop individualized activity plans that meet residents' unique needs, including those with memory care or disabilities. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring comfort and safety during participation. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced mix of recreational therapy sessions, outings, arts and crafts, music therapy, and other stimulating events. Foster an inclusive environment by encouraging participation from all residents, respecting their preferences and abilities. Maintain accurate records of resident participation, feedback, and progress related to activities. Communicate effectively with residents' families and staff to coordinate special events or personalized programs that enhance residents' quality of life. Requirements Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Prior experience working with seniors, especially those requiring memory care or dementia support. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care strategies, and senior care best practices. Strong communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to assist residents with ADLs such as mobility, dressing, or grooming as needed during activities. Experience in schedule management to coordinate multiple events seamlessly throughout the day. Familiarity with aging issues counseling, social work principles, or home & community care is a plus.
