Job Description
Overview The Activities Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of senior adults in Daviess County. This position is responsible for planning and implementing activities, social events, educational opportunities, and trips to engage and support our senior community. The Activities Coordinator reports directly to the County Aging Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement all social activities and programs, which include educational events, health fairs, recreational activities, day trips, and dances.
- Plan and execute all SCC-sponsored trips, including day trips and multi-day excursions.
- Secure necessary supplies for activities with the approval of the Executive Director.
- Promote volunteer opportunities within the community.
- Provide information about activities for publication in the monthly newsletter and for posting on social media.
- Exhibit flexibility in the workweek schedule to accommodate activities that may include evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in office software, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Experience or interest in working with older adults.
- Proven skills in project management and organization.
- Experience in managing volunteers and/or staff.
- Must be personable, professional, detail-oriented, and able to work well with others.
- Must possess a valid Kentucky driver's license and pass a background check.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding SCC and its clients.
