Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our Nursing facility. This energetic professional will design, coordinate, and oversee a diverse range of activities tailored to enhance residents' quality of life, promote social interaction, and support their physical and mental well-being. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for enriching the lives of older adults, especially those with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that caters to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including specialized programs for memory care and dementia support Coordinate engaging events such as arts and crafts, music therapy, outings, recreational games, and social gatherings that foster community involvement Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure activities align with individual care plans and promote overall well-being Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent participation and maximize resident engagement Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during events, providing encouragement and support Monitor residents' responses to activities, adjusting plans to accommodate changing needs or preferences Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to inform ongoing program development Requirements Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care settings Strong background in senior care, including familiarity with Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia support, and recreational therapy techniques Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring specialized caregiving services Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple activities throughout the day Knowledge of aging Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life through creative programming Prior experience in Life Enrichment and Activities a plus Certification a plus Join us in creating vibrant, supportive environments where seniors thrive!
