In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and needs. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a vibrant community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and support residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors by providing stimulating programs that enhance their quality of life. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and lead a diverse range of recreational activities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and special events that cater to residents' preferences and abilities. Collaborate with staff members such as nursing and caregiving teams to develop activity schedules aligned with individual care plans. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during programs to promote independence and engagement. Manage activity calendars efficiently, ensuring timely preparation of materials and resources for each event. Foster an inclusive environment by working with individuals with disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory care needs to ensure activities are accessible and enjoyable for all residents. Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to support ongoing program improvement. Counsel residents on aging issues through meaningful interactions during activities to promote emotional well-being and social connection. Experience Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living facilities. Strong background in senior care, memory care, dementia care, or long-term care environments. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care protocols and working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents and coordinate with teams. Experience assisting residents with ADLs such as mobility, dressing, or grooming during activities. Knowledge of aging issues counseling and home & community care practices is highly desirable. Prior experience managing schedules for multiple groups or individuals in a caregiving or recreational setting is preferred.
