Social Engagement Director Full-Time | Arbors/Ivy Assisted Living Community At Arbors/Ivy, engagement isn't optional — it's essential. We are family-oriented, integrity-driven, and committed to creating meaningful experiences for seniors and their families. We work hard, we support each other, and yes — we laugh often. We are looking for a Social Engagement Director who doesn't just plan activities — but knows every detail matters , follows through impeccably, and truly has a heart for seniors.
This Role Is For Someone Who:
Notices the small things others miss Follows up — every time Takes pride in impeccable, organized work Does the right thing, even when no one is watching Is friendly and fun — but never sloppy Is autonomous and self-motivated Figures things out without being hand-held Understands that excellence is in the details You will be the energy behind our 7-day-a-week engagement calendar — but more importantly, you will be the connector. The person who learns what each resident loves, what they used to enjoy, what they wish they could still do — and then finds creative ways to bring that spark back. What You'll Do Design and execute a dynamic, well-organized recreational program every single week Learn residents' interests by observing, listening, and asking thoughtful questions Increase participation by redesigning programs when interest dips Plan outings (shopping, movies, museums, lunch, concerts) and safely drive our 15-passenger van Build trust with residents and families through consistent, warm communication Recruit, train, and support volunteers and activity assistants Publish polished monthly calendars and newsletters (accuracy matters!) Lead special events that bring joy, connection, and purpose Contribute to occupancy growth by helping families feel confident recommending our community This role requires creativity — but also structure. Fun — but follow-through. Heart — and accountability.
