Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our senior living community. In this vital role, you will create vibrant activity schedules that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for residents. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will foster a lively environment where residents feel valued, empowered, and connected. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the quality of life for seniors through innovative programming and personalized engagement. Responsibilities Develop, plan, and coordinate diverse activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs. Lead recreational therapy sessions that enhance cognitive function, social skills, and emotional well-being Collaborate with residents, caregivers and family members to assess individual resident preferences Manage activity schedules efficiently, ensuring timely execution of daily events and special programs Facilitate social outings, community events, and intergenerational activities that foster community involvement Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during events to promote independence and engagement Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and program outcomes to continually improve offerings Requirements Proven experience in event planning within independent or assisted living or senior care is highly preferred Strong knowledge of recreational therapy techniques tailored for individuals with disabilities Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents Ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently while adapting to changing resident needs Familiarity with aging issues counseling, caregiving practices, and wellness programming Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is advantageous Demonstrated organizational skills to oversee program logistics and recordkeeping effectively Join us in creating a lively atmosphere where seniors thrive through engaging activities designed to enrich their lives!
