Position Summary Pomeroy Living Northville is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Activity Director to lead and manage the community's activities program. The Activity Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, social, wellness, and engagement activities that support residents' physical, emotional, social, and cognitive well-being. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with seniors, leading a team, building relationships, creating meaningful programs, and helping residents stay active and connected. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and implement a diverse range of recreational, social, wellness, and engagement activities. Develop activity calendars that meet the interests, needs, and abilities of residents. Lead group activities, special events, holiday programs, entertainment, outings, games, crafts, music, exercise, and resident engagement opportunities. Supervise, train, and support activity staff and volunteers. Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners. Encourage resident participation and create a welcoming environment for all residents. Collaborate with nursing, dining, therapy, housekeeping, administration, and other departments to support a holistic approach to resident care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to activities, attendance, participation, and resident engagement. Monitor resident interests, feedback, and participation to improve programming. Ensure activities are safe, inclusive, and appropriate for residents' abilities. Follow all regulatory guidelines, company policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements. Support quality of life, resident satisfaction, and community engagement goals. Required Qualifications Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, CTRS, or Certified Activity Director, CAD, required. Minimum of two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years required. At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting required. Strong organizational and leadership skills required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Passion for working with seniors required. Must be dependable, creative, patient, professional, and team-oriented. Must be able to lead staff, volunteers, and group activities. Must be able to maintain accurate documentation and follow regulatory requirements. Must be able to complete required onboarding, background checks, and employment screenings. Preferred Qualifications Experience in senior living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, long-term care, or rehabilitation setting. Experience creating monthly activity calendars. Experience supervising activity aides, volunteers, or recreational staff. Knowledge of resident-centered care and senior engagement programming. Ability to create programs for residents with different physical, cognitive, and social needs. Strong creativity, problem-solving, and event-planning skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments. Schedule and Hours Schedule may vary based on resident programming needs, facility events, and community operations.
