Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to residents' interests and needs, fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive environment. Your enthusiasm for enhancing quality of life will inspire residents to participate actively, promoting socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors through creative programming and compassionate care. Duties Develop and execute a comprehensive activities calendar that includes events such as arts and crafts, music therapy, outings, fitness classes, and themed celebrations aligned with residents' preferences and abilities. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, family members, and external vendors to ensure activities meet residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive needs. Manage scheduling logistics for events and coordinate transportation or venue arrangements as needed for outings or special programs. Foster an engaging community atmosphere by encouraging participation while respecting individual limitations related to Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or other disabilities. Monitor residents' responses to activities and adjust programming accordingly to maximize enjoyment and therapeutic benefits. Maintain detailed documentation of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future planning. Conduct evaluations of residents and develop care plans to ensure activities are being provided in a way to improve resident's quality of life. Manage and develop a staff of activity aides including scheduling, training and oversight. Experience Experience in Senior Living preferred Extensive background in recreational therapy or activity coordination for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments. Strong knowledge of caregiving practices related to aging issues, long-term care environments, home & community care settings, and working with individuals with disabilities. Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers and healthcare professionals. Demonstrated ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple programs in a dynamic environment. $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
