Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team and enrich the lives of our residents through engaging, meaningful activities. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a lively, inclusive community where residents feel valued, stimulated, and connected. Duties Develop and implement diverse activity programs that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, physical activity, and emotional well-being for residents. Assist with planning special events, outings, and celebrations that encourage community participation. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to create personalized activity plans for residents with specific needs such as Alzheimer's care or memory care. Support residents in participating in activities by providing encouragement and assistance with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) when needed. Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent engagement while accommodating individual preferences and abilities. Maintain accurate records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness. Foster a positive environment by promoting social interaction and ensuring activities are inclusive for individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges. Requirements Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings. Knowledge of senior care practices, including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support programs. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, and team members. Ability to assist residents with ADLs such as mobility support, dressing, or grooming during activities. Excellent schedule management skills to organize daily programs efficiently. Compassionate approach to aging issues counseling and social work principles related to senior well-being. Demonstrated enthusiasm for creating vibrant community experiences that enhance quality of life for seniors. Pay:
$17.28 - $18.33 per hour
