06/02/2026 Posting # 3549 The Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District No. 47 is seeking an experienced, innovative and student-activity centered individual to provide excellent leadership to students and programs at Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School and Sauk Rapids-Rice Community Education. Located in Sauk Rapids, MN, minutes from downtown St. Cloud and approximately an hour northwest of the Twin Cities, Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School and Sauk Rapids-Rice Community Education are in a developing rural area of Central Minnesota. Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School provides quality programs to 1,000+ students while Sauk Rapids-Rice Community Education serves the greater Sauk Rapids-Rice community. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administer all activities in the Middle School and Recreation Department, including finance, facilities, and personnel
  • Work with the High School Activities Director and Community Education Director to establish and foster a shared vision and mission within the Middle School Activities Department and Recreation Department
  • Hire, mentor, support, and evaluate coaches and directors in the activities and recreation department
  • Increase and support school spirit and our positive school climate
  • Communicate regularly with the High School Activities Director to establish a common set of practices for activity programs in grades 6-12
  • Communicate regularly with the Community Education Director to establish a common set of practices for all youth and adult recreation programs
  • Coordinates facilities and programs with department staff and other agencies and organizations
  • Manage and enforce local school rules, and practices, policies, and procedures of the Minnesota State High School League
  • Supervise and/or oversee all middle school activity and districtwide recreation related events
  • Option to to be paid to supervise high school events on nights/weekends Outstanding candidates will:

  • Provide leadership within the activities and recreation program, student body, district, and community
  • Communicate effectively with coaches, families, and administrators
  • Make decisions thoughtfully, deliberately, and consistently

  • Work tirelessly to promote, support, and implement quality activity programs
  • Motivate and maintain positive relations with students, staff, and parents/guardians

Required Qualifications:
  • Post-Secondary Degree in recreation and sports management, physical education, or a closely related field
  • Experience as a coach/advisor and/or supervising recreation programs
  • Desire to lead all activities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in activities as a participant, coach/advisor, and/or administrator
  • Experience as participant in multiple school activities
Contract:
Full-time (8 hours per day) for 230 days per year between July 1 and June 30.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary based on experience starting at $60,000 up to $75,000. Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions.
